Apple may abandon all silicone cases and accessories

This may be announced at the presentation of the iPhone 15 on Tuesday.

According to MacRumors, Apple is likely planning to discontinue the production of silicone rubber and fluoropolymer accessories, replacing them with products made from more environmentally friendly "next-generation materials."

This decision will lead to the removal of official silicone cases for iPhone with MagSafe, Sport Band and Solo Loop straps for the brand's watches, as well as the AirTag Loop.

This news follows rumors that Apple has also decided to stop using leather. This may be announced on September 12 during the unveiling of the new iPhone 15 smartphones. It is expected that the new eco-material will be fabric. The accessory line is set to be called FineWoven.

Interestingly, the Hermes brand has already removed all leather straps for Apple Watch from its website, which strongly supports the rumors. It is likely that this will be presented as a commitment to nature and a transition to more eco-friendly materials to reduce the carbon footprint.
