Production of Samsung Galaxy Rings to Begin in August

The Korean business publication The Elec reports that the tech giant has completed the development process of the new wearable device and has even found suppliers for the necessary equipment. It only needs to finalize the specific date for the production line launch.

Although the production of the Galaxy Ring is imminent, its release is unlikely to happen before 2024. In addition to standard regulatory procedures, the company needs to go through various certification processes for the ring to obtain "medical device" status, which it is expected to achieve.

The gadget is expected to be equipped with a heart rate and blood pressure sensor that will detect irregular heart rhythms and record ECGs. Additionally, the ring will allow users to control devices, including laptops, smartphones, and televisions, as well as interact with virtual reality, for instance, while wearing smart glasses - which Samsung is also developing.

The process of obtaining the necessary certifications typically takes several months. Some sources believe that the company will try to finalize all formalities just in time for the presentation of the Galaxy S24 smartphone series, which is set to take place in February 2024.
