New Trailer for DC's "Blue Beetle" Released

Something between Iron Man and Shazam.

Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics have released a major trailer for the film "Blue Beetle" about the titular superhero. The plot follows teenager Jaime Reyes, who accidentally discovers alien biotechnology that grants him a suit with incredible abilities.

The lead role in the film is played by 21-year-old actor Xolo Maridueña, best known for his role as Miguel in the series "Cobra Kai." The director is Ángel Manuel Soto ("Charm City Kings").

"Blue Beetle" will be one of the last films in the current phase of DC. Earlier this year, new studio heads James Gunn and Peter Safran announced a reboot of the cinematic universe.

The premiere of "Blue Beetle" will take place on August 18, 2023.
