Nicolas Cage to Appear as Superman in "Flash" Film

He finally got the role he was supposed to play back in 1998.

The director of "The Flash," Andrés Muschietti, spoiled one of the main cameos in the film - in an interview with Esquire Middle East, he announced the appearance of Nicolas Cage in a supporting role. The actor will portray Superman.

The director added that Cage's role is brief, but the actor immersed himself in it wholeheartedly. It is likely that the character will be seen in one of the universes that Barry Allen enters before meeting Batman played by Keaton and Supergirl, portrayed by Sasha Calle. They can be seen in the fresh trailer for the film.

Nicolas Cage's appearance in this film will be very symbolic. The actor is a devoted fan of the Kryptonian hero. For some time, he owned one of the best copies of the first issue of Action Comics from 1938, where Superman was introduced for the first time. He even named his son, born in 2005, Kal-El.

In the late 1990s, Nicolas was set to play Superman in a Tim Burton film written by Kevin Smith. However, the project was canceled just before filming began. Cage only had time to try on the suit.

The actor spoke about his disappointment regarding the project's cancellation:
