The average selling price of iPhones is on the rise.

Analysts from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) have shared a fresh report on the smartphone market. This annual statistics report focuses on new iPhone buyers in the USA and the platforms they used prior.

It turns out that 83% of buyers switched from one iPhone to another, 15% transitioned from Android, and about 2% switched from other systems, feature phones, or purchased a smartphone for the first time. In the previous three years, the share of those switching from Android was 10-11%, while the last time 15% of system transitions were observed was in 2018.

CIRP researchers note that they plan to analyze the reasons for platform changes in one of their upcoming reports.

Previously, the same company reported that Apple managed to increase the average selling price of smartphones from $882 in March 2022 to $988 in March 2023.

The reasons cited include the popularity of the iPhone 14 Pro and the availability of a more expensive Plus model alongside relatively budget-friendly mini versions in previous generations.
