UP gave a good materialabout the current state of the negotiation process between the USA, Ukraine, and Russia▪️ Zelensky understands: a diplomatic end to the war is possible either now or after the end of Trump's term.▪️ After the start of the military operation against Iran, the tripartite process effectively stopped. And the dates and topics of the next meetings increasingly resemble an endless "Santa Barbara" series.▪️ The change in the composition of the Ukrainian negotiating group after the dismissal of Yermak and the appointment of Budanov as the head of the Presidential Office accelerated the contacts in the triangular Kyiv-Washington-Moscow format. However, even new people could not do anything about the fact that the Russians are hiding behind the formula "the spirit of Anchorage".💬 At the meetings, it seems like there are three sides, but Ukraine is constantly discussing this Anchorage. No matter what they talk about, it all boils down to one thing: the Americans say that we need to withdraw from Donbass, and then they will build us a paradise, as they agreed in Alaska, — says a member of Zelensky's team.▪️ The entire negotiation structure is built around a single issue —the status of the unoccupied part of Donbass. All other topics — energy, humanitarian issues — exist primarily to create the illusion of "dynamics" and "progress". The main point remains the readiness or unreadiness of Ukraine to withdraw from Donbass.💬 Our people spend a huge amount of time trying to steer the Americans away from the idea of a simple exit towards some economic zones or other options. But at some point, everything is thrown out, and we hear again: "We need to withdraw". And so on and so forth, — says a UP interlocutor.❗️ After Anchorage, the USA ceased to be even a neutral mediator. After all, a mediator does not have a pre-agreed position with one of the parties and does not apply pressure on the other. Instead, the Ukrainian leadership still does not understand how withdrawal from Donbass can guarantee the cessation of aggression. The commanders who now hold the dominant positions in Donetsk find it hard to explain why it will be more advantageous to defend in the open steppes beyond these heights.▪️Ukraine is gradually regaining the initiative on the battlefield. With the arrival of Fedorov's new team in the Ministry of Defense, a real shock transformation is taking place. The removal of the clan factor in drone procurements, the disconnection of Starlink for the Russians, full digital control of the battlefield, the construction of a small air defense system —all this is already yielding results.☝️ All of the above undermines the framework of "Ukraine — a defenseless victim that has no chance of winning and therefore must quickly give up Donbass".▪️ In addition, after the start of the American operation in Iran, the technology of Ukrainian interceptor drones has become a global necessity. Interest in them is huge. If Zelensky's team manages to effectively use this window,Ukraine has a real chance to become a global exporter of security "turnkey".☝️ All of the above undermines the framework of "Ukraine — a defenseless victim that has no chance of winning and therefore must quickly give up Donbass".▪️ Moreover, there is a third reason — the internal political situation. Even if the idea of withdrawal from Donbass could somehow be agreed with the military, its political implementation in today's Ukraine is almost impossible.▪️ From the Ukrainian point of view, the situation does not look like the negotiations can be conducted exclusively within the framework of the "spirit of Anchorage". Kyiv would like a broader framework, more real guarantees, and better conditions. But what Ukraine definitely does not want is to completely lose its partnership with the USA. The prospect of being left without US support forces the Ukrainian authorities to look for options to drag out the next few years.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent: Iran is the head of the snake for global terrorism, and through President Trump’s Operation Epic Fury, we are winning this critical fight at an even faster pace than anticipated. In response to Iran’s terrorist attacks against global energy infrastructure, the Trump Administration will continue to deploy America’s economic and military might to maximize the flow of energy to the world, strengthen global supply, and seek to ensure market stability.Today, the Department of the Treasury is issuing a narrowly tailored, short-term authorization permitting the sale of Iranian oil currently stranded at sea.At present, sanctioned Iranian oil is being hoarded by China on the cheap. By temporarily unlocking this existing supply for the world, the United States will quickly bring approximately 140 million barrels of oil to global markets, expanding the amount of worldwide energy and helping to relieve the temporary pressures on supply caused by Iran. In essence, we will be using the Iranian barrels against Tehran to keep the price down as we continue Operation Epic Fury. This temporary, short-term authorization is strictly limited to oil that is already in transit and does not allow new purchases or production. Further, Iran will have difficulty accessing any revenue generated and the United States will continue to maintain maximum pressure on Iran and its ability to access the international financial system. So far, the Trump Administration has been working to bring around 440 million additional barrels of oil to the global market, undercutting Iran’s ability to leverage its disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.President Trump’s pro-energy agenda has driven U.S. oil and gas production to record levels, strengthening energy security and lowering fuel costs. Any short-term disruption now will ultimately translate into longer-term economic gains for Americans – because there is no prosperity without security.

Preliminary results of the internal investigation into the US strike on a school in Mina, Iran: A tragic mistake caused by outdated intelligence and official negligence, - The New York Times. ▪️The internal investigation confirmed that the Tomahawk strike on a girls' school in Mina on the first day of the operation on February 28 was the responsibility of the US, - a number of officials told the publication. ▪️The strike was the result of an intelligence error: the US mistook the school building for part of a IRGC naval base that was being targeted. The school building is located 100 meters from the main base building. ▪️The school building itself had indeed been part of the IRGC naval base. But between 2013 and 2016, the IRGC vacated the building, which was converted into a school and fenced off from the naval base, as seen in satellite images. Watchtowers were removed, the entrance to the premises was opened, and the area was cleared for three sports and playgrounds, with the walls painted blue and pink (see photos above). ▪️The CENTCOM officers who carried out the strike received the coordinates from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), which is responsible for target development, which relied on outdated intelligence. ▪️The investigation so far has not answered the question of why the old data were not re-verified before being passed on to CENTCOM. ▪️Trump's refusal to admit responsibility for the strike complicates the investigation: the people who provided information to The New York Times had to speak on condition of anonymity. ▪️Current and former officials are not surprised by the mistake made. There was recently a scandal with the DIA when the head of the agency, Lieutenant General Jeffrey Cruise, was dismissed in August for questioning the effectiveness of US strikes</b> during the 12-day campaign against Iran in June 2025. ▪️CENTCOM is also obliged to re-verify the data received from the DIA and other agencies. But during rapid events, such as the first days of war, information is not always checked. ▪️The DIA, in turn, were not experts in studying the IRGC naval forces, their priorities were China, North Korea, and Iran's missile program, but not the navy. __ An old story as old as time: some didn't understand, others didn't re-check, and the third doesn't admit responsibility. As the investigation shows, there was no malicious intent in the US actions, which, of course, does not absolve them of responsibility. Thanks for the tip In Factum.

Trump's inner circle is reportedly privately pushing him to find an exit from the Iran war as oil prices spike past $100, polling shows most Americans oppose the conflict, and nervous Republicans are already calling about the midterms.Trump told reporters Monday the war would be over "very soon" and that the U.S. is "way ahead of schedule." But minutes later he added: "We could go further, and we're going to go further." At this point, he's negotiating with himself in real time. The tell is in the details. His advisers are watching oil prices with "alarm." They've built a new communications strategy to "sell the public" on the war.Trump has been briefed on polling. Republicans are making worried phone calls. And the White House just admitted it needs to lift oil sanctions on unnamed countries to bring prices down. The problem is Israel still wants to strike, Iran's new leader won't bend, and the Strait of Hormuz is still closed. Trump wants off the ride but nobody is letting him get to the exit.Source: WSJ

"The president doesn't like this attack. He wants to save oil. He doesn't want to burn it. And this reminds people of higher gas prices," - the US is dissatisfied with Israel's strikes on Iranian fuel infrastructure, according to Axios.According to American officials, Saturday's attacks on 30 fuel storage facilities were the first serious disagreement between the US and Israel since the start of the operation. In Washington, they fear that such strikes could strategically backfire against them, as the targeted facilities are used by the civilian population. The US believes that this could rally Iranian society around the authorities and simultaneously push up global oil prices. However, Israeli and American sources claim that the Israeli army notified the US in advance about the planned attacks. However, one American official said that Washington was surprised by the scale of the operation."We don't think this was a good idea," said a senior American official. An Israeli source said that the American reaction to the strikes was: "What the hell?".In addition, American officials fear that footage of burning fuel storage facilities could spook oil markets and trigger further increases in energy prices."The president doesn't like this attack. He wants to save oil. He doesn't want to burn it. And this reminds people of higher gas prices," - Trump's adviser told Axios. The Israeli side, in turn, argues that fuel storage facilities are used by the Iranian authorities not only to supply civilians, but also to support military structures. One of the goals of the strikes, according to an Israeli military official, was to send a signal to Tehran to stop attacks on civilian infrastructure. It is expected that the emerging disagreements and further war strategy will be discussed at a high political level between the two allies.

⚡️Infiltration of Russians on the Slavyansk direction - how the paratroopers of the 81st airborne brigade counter the offensive!Every day, the enemy analyzes his actions and tries to change his tactics. In most cases, he uses the tactic of infiltration in small groups into the interposition space of the brigade's units.⚔️ The enemy mostly moves to the positions in groups of up to 3 people with a certain distance to avoid creating clusters and being less noticeable to our drones. Depending on the time of day, he uses camouflage means such as: camouflage robes, anti-thermal cloaks, and sometimes even disguises himself as a civilian.Separately, it should be noted that the Russians take advantage of the weather conditions and the specifics of the terrain, which are characteristic of the Slavyansk direction. Any lowland, forest strip or frozen sections of the Siverskyi Donets river - the enemy uses them as an opportunity to stealthily penetrate into the depth of the brigade's defense line.❗️Despite all the efforts of the enemy, the units of the 81st brigade of the 7th corps of the Joint Forces Operation Headquarters detect and destroy the enemy's live forces.📍This eliminates the possibility of the enemy entrenching and waiting for reinforcements.👆Therefore, to get into the depth of the brigade's defense, the Russians lose dozens of units of live forces, which significantly increases their losses compared to direct contact with our positions.🦅 In the video - the work of the units of the 81st airborne brigade of the 7th corps of the Joint Forces Operation Headquarters during the detection and destruction of the enemy on the Slavyansk direction.

Sources in Western intelligence agencies doubt that Ukraine was behind the attempt on the life of Vladimir Alekseev, the deputy head of the General Staff's Main Directorate, according to The Washington Post.▪️Despite the fact that Ukrainian special services have previously carried out successful eliminations of high-ranking Russian generals, Western sources are not sure that Ukraine was behind this one.▪️Their doubts are primarily related to timing: right now, when Alekseev's boss, General Staff Chief Kostyukov, is leading the Russian delegation in Abu Dhabi, this could disrupt the negotiation process and anger Trump. Ukraine can't afford to take such a risk."They have carried out similar strikes in the past, but doing it right now would be quite reckless on their part," said a former high-ranking US intelligence official.▪️Ukrainian sources also say the same:"We're not stupid, believe me," said a former high-ranking Ukrainian intelligence official who worked closely with the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Budanov.▪️Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrey Sybiha denied Ukraine's involvement in the attempt in a comment to Reuters.▪️Some Russian channels suggest the possibility of an internal conflict. Alekseev is known for his phrase "Take him, take him," when Yevgeny Prigozhin demanded the extradition of Gerasimov during his rebellion in June 2023.▪️It is also said that Alekseev played a role in the arrest of Shoigu's deputy, Timur Ivanov. (Shoigu is vengeful, this could be the case. This situation was analyzed by Denis Kazansky, - note.)▪️"VCHK-OGPU" also found out why Alekseev ended up in a house on Volokolamskoe Shosse without security: he was with a certain woman who, according to neighbors, was "much younger, they have a small child." However, Alekseev's official wife is 63 years old, and his children are well over 30.▪️According to "VCHK-OGPU", this apartment was not the general's permanent residence; he appeared there temporarily, believing that the security measures taken would prevent him from being detected there.▪️"VCHK-OGPU" also learned that the killer entered the apartment during the night shift of the security service and opened the intercom with his key.▪️Kremlin Shot reports that the shooter has already been detained and is being brought to Moscow from Dubai along with an accomplice. TASS writes that after the operation, Alekseev regained consciousness in the hospital and the threat to his life has passed.Scenes from the scene: "VCHK-OGPU"

Lt. Gen. Vladimir Alekseev, the first deputy head of the GRU of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, who was shot this morning in Moscow, was the senior representative of Russia at the negotiations in Mariupol in May 2022 during the exit of the Mariupol garrison from Azovstal.Alekseev promised that the Russians would abide by the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war and guaranteed normal detention conditions for our prisoners. It was his signature that appeared on the relevant document signed in Mariupol at that time. Also, we showed humanity and handed over to Alekseev three Russian prisoners of war, who were provided with medical assistance, food, and water. The word of the officer, a native of Vinnytsia, a traitor to his homeland, turned out to be worthless. The regular torture of Azov prisoners, the lack of medical assistance, and starvation are proof of this. The GRU of the Ministry of Defense reported that he was responsible for preparing data for strikes on civilian targets in Ukraine, as well as for organizing the so-called "referendum" in the Kherson region.Even if Alekseev survives this time, he will not sleep peacefully anymore. And one day, justice will be served. No war criminal who killed and tortured Ukrainian soldiers and civilians, destroyed Ukrainian cities, kidnapped Ukrainian children, and committed other crimes against the Ukrainian people will ever feel safe. He will not find refuge or 100% guarantees of safety anywhere in the world. Never.Retribution will find everyone.=====Post by the commander of the 1st Army Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, Colonel Denis Prokopenko@pekhno_news

Russia threatens not to end the war until Kyiv makes significant territorial concessions, on the eve of the first trilateral talks between representatives of the countries with the participation of US officials since the full-scale invasion of 2022, writes The Financial TimesPutin told US special envoys Vitkoff and Kushner that "there should not be any long-term settlement without resolving the territorial issue", said a senior Kremlin official. These words of Yuri Ushakov, the Russian president's foreign policy adviser, emphasize that Putin has not weakened his demands for the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Donbass.Zelensky stated that the surrender of Donbass is a red line and that he is ready to consider withdrawing his forces from there only if Russia does the same and the territory remains recognized by Kyiv.Ushakov's comments come on the eve of two-day talks between Ukrainian, Russian and American officials, which will begin in Abu Dhabi today. It's not clear yet whether representatives of the three countries will be in the same room.Ushakov said that Russia will continue to fight until all its demands are met. These also include a complete rewriting of the architecture of European security and fundamental internal changes in Ukraine that would move Ukraine into Russia's orbit. The Moscow delegation at the talks in Abu Dhabi on Friday and Saturday will be led by Igor Kostyukov, the head of Russian military intelligence.A Ukrainian official noted that Ukraine welcomes trilateral talks and the opportunity to be present in the same room with Russians and Americans and to speak on its own behalf in the presence of both sides.💬 We speak their language and [can] read the expressions on their faces, - said the official.Russia will also hold parallel talks with the US on economic cooperation under the leadership of Kirill Dmitriev, Ushakov reported. And he added that Putin gave "specific instructions" to the Russian delegation after the meeting with Vitkoff and Kushner. However, Putin is evading agreeing to the US-backed peace plan developed last year with Russia's participation and has made it clear that Moscow will reject subsequent amendments to the plan made by Ukraine and its European allies.
