The Kyiv City Council imposed a moratorium on the public use of russian-language cultural products on the territory of the city of Kyiv. 71 deputies voted for the decision.
According to Vadym Vasylchuk, deputy of the Kyiv City Council, head of the permanent commission on education and science, youth and sports, it is necessary to protect the Ukrainian information space from the hybrid influences of the aggressor state, which is trying to destroy the Ukrainian national identity, culture, traditions, customs and historical memory.
"It is necessary to once and for all limit the russian-language cultural product on the territory of the capital of Ukraine. In fact, it is envisaged to prohibit the public coverage and demonstration of russian-language goods and services that are created in the process of carrying out activities in the field of culture. These are books, art albums, audiovisual works, musical sound recordings, handicrafts, theater and circus performances, concerts and cultural and educational services. Russian is the language of the aggressor country, and it has no place in the heart of our capital," said Vadym Vasylchuk.
The City council haven't specified ways to control the execution of moratorium and sanctions for violations of it
