1929 Harley-Davidson jd
THE STORY
As one of the penultimate generation of Harley-Davidson’s legendary J series V-twin motorcycles, this sturdy 1929 JD marked the final year for the F-head engine with which the Motor Company established its legacy. Still, the the culture was changing. Smaller displacement machines were not only more accessible to more riders but were also more economical and efficient. Automobiles were increasingly affordable, and roads around the United States were dramatically improving, a fact that was making the smoother, quieter and cleaner running sidevalve engine configuration the favorable option. Indian transitioned to sidevalve engines in the early 1920s and, by the decade’
