At a time when the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity are under direct assault, neutrality risks being interpreted as ambiguity — and ambiguity, in geopolitics, rarely benefits the victim of aggression.Equally concerning is Azerbaijan’s decision not to vote. Taking no position is, in itself, a position. This is particularly striking given that Turkey — Baku’s closest strategic ally — supported the resolution.This vote once again highlights a broader reality:The global consensus on Ukraine is significant — but not universal.
